UMC's program in equine science provides you with the experience you need to build a career in the horse industry - including a newly established equine breeding program and an option to prepare for veterinary studies. Graduates of University of Minnesota, Crookston's Equine Science program understand and are able to meet the daily care, nutrition, health care, and exercise/training needs of horses in their care. Our graduates have the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the equine or equine-related employment and have the business and management experience necessary to operate an equine or relate business. At UMC we balance the practical skills students need to work with and care for horses and the theory required to build a successful career. We focus on the business and management aspects of the horse industry, thus providing a broad-based education that appeals to employers.
